Ty Burrell Net Worth, Height, and Age: Key Facts

What Is Ty Burrell’s Net Worth?

Multiple entertainment finance and biography sites estimate Ty Burrell’s net worth at approximately $16 million. The bulk of that wealth is attributed to his 11-season run on Modern Family, which generated substantial syndication residuals. Additional income has come from voice roles in animated films such as Finding Dory, Storks, and the series Duncanville, as well as earlier film appearances in The Incredible Hulk and National Treasure: Book of Secrets. It is important to note that Burrell himself has not publicly confirmed a specific net worth figure.

How Old Is Ty Burrell?

Born August 22, 1967, Ty Burrell turned 57 in 2024. His birthplace is Grants Pass, Oregon, a small town in the southwestern part of the state. He attended Southern Oregon University before earning a Master of Fine Arts from Penn State. Ty Burrell’s early life and career included stage work in Macbeth and a role in Black Hawk Down.

Ty Burrell Then and Now: From Young Actor to Phil Dunphy

Burrell’s path to stardom was gradual. After earning his MFA from Penn State, he performed in regional theatre and appeared in minor television roles. His early filmography includes a mix of supporting parts in action and horror films, none of which hinted at the comedic breakout that awaited him.

The transformation came in 2009 when he was cast as Phil Dunphy on Modern Family. The character – a well-meaning, slightly goofy real estate agent and father – became an instant fan favourite. Burrell’s performance earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and five Screen Actors Guild Awards as part of the ensemble cast.

But Ty Burrell’s role as Phil Dunphy on Modern Family defined his public image. The show ran for 11 seasons and ended in 2020. Since then, Burrell has taken on voice acting projects and a podcast titled The Good Life, but has not returned to a major live-action series.

What Is Known and What Remains Unclear About Ty Burrell?

When examining the available information, a clear divide emerges between what is firmly documented and what remains open to interpretation. The table below summarises the distinction.

Who Is Ty Burrell? A Portrait of the Actor Behind Phil Dunphy

Tyler Gerald Burrell was born in Grants Pass, Oregon, a town of roughly 40,000 people. He studied theatre at Southern Oregon University before earning a Master of Fine Arts from Penn State. His early career mixed classical stage roles with small film parts, including a memorable appearance in Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down.

Modern Family changed his trajectory entirely. As Phil Dunphy, Burrell brought warmth and physical comedy to a character that became one of the most quoted sitcom dads of the 2010s. The role earned him two Primetime Emmys and cemented his place in television history. Since the show ended, he has deliberately stepped back from the spotlight, focusing on family and selected voice projects.

The persistent questions about his Instagram activity and net worth likely stem from a mismatch between his level of fame and his low public profile. He remains a beloved figure in pop culture, but one who chooses to stay out of the daily celebrity news cycle.
